We are delighted that Nick Meacham will be serving as a diocesan intern at St. Anne's from July 1 to early January 2012. Nick's internship is part of the diocesan discernment process for persons hearing the call to ordained ministry.
Born and raised in Birmingham, England, Nick became politically active in college, and at the age of 25 was elected to a council seat in the heart of the borough in which he was raised. In the summer of 2004, while visiting friends in Asheville, Nick met his wife, Ann, and moved to North Carolina shortly thereafter. His job with BioNetwork brought the two of them to Forsyth Tech and Winston-Salem. They have been attending St. Timothy's where Nick heard the call to ministry. Welcome to St. Anne's, Nick and Ann!

St. Anne's Receives Green
Grant
The Vestry has been informed that St. Anne's has received a Green
grant in the amount of $5,000 from the North Carolina Episcopal Church Foundation, Inc. The Foundation's Green
grants program has been in effect for two years and is designed to support projects that allow a church to reduce the consumption of energy and other natural resources required to operate a congregation's facilities. The grant will be used to assist us in replacing five exterior doors (two in the sanctuary, two in the Child Care facility, and those in the Narthex) with insulated, steel exterior doors that are virtually maintenance free and that will yield a significant reduction in energy consumption as well as electrical and natural gas costs.
Outreach Committee Receives MDG Grant
The Outreach Committee is delighted to announce that an MDG grant of $2,750 has been awarded to the committee by the Global Missions Committee of the Diocese of NC in support of our ongoing ministry in Chiapas, Mexico. Grants from the Global Missions Committee are awarded to churches in the diocese for established outreach projects that address one or more of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). This grant covers the costs of training materials and workshops for a Training Partnership in Maternal-Child Health, and addresses Millennium Development Goals #3,4,5, and 6, all related to health and empowerment. The Outreach Committee thanks committee member, Jeanne Simonelli, author of the grant, whose work in Chiapas through Wake Forest University has enlightened the entire congregation.
